NFL Week 14 Pre-Playoff Waiver Wire Wonders

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson
Depending on the rules of your league, you may have the opportunity to pick up some extra talent off the waiver wire to give your team a boost going into the playoffs. My league commissioner locked our rosters today, so I am stuck with what I got.  Here are some of my picks that could be the difference in your week 14 matchups and beyond.
If you are like me and did not keep a backup QB on your team the whole season, Russell Wilson may be your man heading into the playoff roster locks. Wilson has consistently improved his play through the season and has scored over 18 fantasy points a game in his last 5 games. His next two matchups are Arizona and Buffalo, so I would expect him to continue that trend. Arizona's defense is pretty good, but they are spending the entire game on the field because their QB can't get a first down.   Wilson is available in 78% of Yahoo leagues, call him maybe? You might also want to take a look at one of Wilson's favorite target's, wide receiver Golden Tate. Tate has reaped the benefits of Wilson's ascension, scoring around 20 fantasy point per game in standard leagues in 3 out of the last 4 weeks. With Sidney Rice's status in question after sustaining a possible concussion on the final play of Sunday's win vs. Chicago, Tate could see even more targets.  Tate is available in 70% of yahoo leagues.
Cleveland Brown WR Josh Gordon
Josh Gordon is another wide receiver who has been putting up some decent numbers lately. Gordan has become a favorite target of rookie Brown's quarterback, Brandon Weeden.  Gordon went for a little over 20 fantasy points Sunday vs. the Raiders and has two decent matchups in KC and Washington coming up. Gordon could be a nice insurance policy to have on your bench in case one of your receivers goes down in the playoffs.  Gordon is there for the taking in 67% of Yahoo leagues.
Chad Givens is also a wide receiver worth considering for a bench spot. With Danny Amendola having injury problems lately, QB Sam Bradford has been utilizing the rookie wideout more.  Givens has gone for over 20 fantasy points in his last 2 games and has good matchups in Buffalo and Minnesota ahead.  He is only owned in 13% of Yahoo leagues.
Good luck to all those who made the playoffs this year. May your rosters stay healthy and touchdowns be a plenty. Daddy needs a new flat screen baby!
